@Debian+ I've been using apt-get and aptitude for ages. I like them and I predominantly know what I'm doing. Was just running an aptitude update && aptitude safe-upgrade and was gazing at the repo files updating and then something stuck me. My /etc/apt/sources.list is full of stanzas like:

deb http://http.debian.net/debian/ stable main contrib
deb-src http://http.debian.net/debian/ stable main contrib

As I never touch the source code, shouldn't I just comment out the second line and save myself the download every time I run update?

If you don't need the easy download of sources then you may just comment out them. It doesn't hurt.

And if I need the source I can just uncomment.
